Rumour has it that the trusty kettle could soon become a thing of the past.

According to the Telegraph, more and more people are choosing to invest in the Quooker – a gadget that delivers boiling water through a tap. One in three designer kitchens now boast the Dutch invention.

I myself have seen a Quooker and I have to say I was pretty impressed. A cup of tea has never been so easy. But before you get your hopes up, you might have to save a little. At £20,000, it’s a luxury you have to really want.

Don’t have 20K to spare? Hang on to your kettle and who knows – you might be able to cash it in as a collector’s item.
