Space is at more of a premium than ever but this doesn’t mean our style or social life should suffer. With this pick of the top five retro sofa beds you can invite that overdue guest to stay in your swish pad.

The first sofa on the mood board is the Tacchini Reverso Sofa Bed from Nest that comes in a choice of fabrics at £3,764.17. The cool Corbusier frame may seem austere for a bed but the generous depth of the squab seat will make for a comfy night’s sleep.
Next Heal’s adds a splash of colour with a vibrant chaise sofabed in pink felt costing £1,195. The undulating lines of this sofa will make it stand out in any room as a true design feature and as a bed. The seat pad is removable and can be flipped over to create a temporary double bed. Continuing with the retro theme Little Book of Furniture has designed the Cassette sofabed at £1,595 although the shape cannot be described as traditional the pull out mechanism certainly is. This sofa is a pure retro design – throw down a sheepskin rug and transport yourself back to the 70’s. The Pierrot Leather sofabed by GoModern at £3,200 evokes ideas of modern retro living it would sit very well in a monochrome apartment with a few choice retro style gems thrown in to complete the look and to really treat your guest the sofabed includes orthopaedic bedsprings.
The final retro sofabed comes again from GoModern, The Papillion at £1,950. A very curvy but petite sofa that will be an elegant treasure in any retro home. The fold down back affords a spacious bed for two guests to cuddle up in and admire your beautifully styled home.
