Ryanair’s latest idea to cut costs means propping up the bar as you fly. The low budget air line has suggested that passengers sit on bar stools rather than the relative comfort of a normal in-flight seat.

The incentive is great for Dublin-based Ryanair as their flights could carry up to 50 per cent more passengers and cut costs by 20 per cent. But would you really wanto to fly on a stool? Flying is a hassle at the best of times with strangers’ elbows and sniffles and body odour to contend to. Take out comfort and perhaps even safety then I’d rather pay a couple of quid more for British Airways and a complimentary sandwich! The air line claim that safety won’t be reduced, with seat belts fastening around your waist as normal, but it doesn’t sound appealing, does it? If your’e tempted, take a look at mydeco’s top ten bar stools. Who knows, Ryanair may even let you take your own on board! Cheap skates that they are!
